The students will learn how to aggregate the Multidimensional Indicators on Poverty and Living Conditions into a unidimensional index through practical examples and tutorials on how to properly aggregating different dimensions. The main goal of the course is to enhance students’ ability to understand the topic and to apply the methods to the European survey data, as diverse aggregation methods can produce different results and diverse ranking of local areas when studying geography of poverty in Europe (poverty mapping). |
